About Us

Click to Enlarge Sturgis Wheel is a family owed business. We opened our doors in 1993. Ron and Sue Retzlaff teamed up, using Ron’s automotive wheel knowledge and Sue’s marketing and sales experience, to start a little company. That little company has grown into the successful business it is today. Doing business internationally and with the best in the industry.

Click to Enlarge Sturgis Wheel is based 20 miles south of the famous Sturgis SD. Located in the beautiful Black Hills we employ the finest machinist, engineers, sales people, polishers, and knowledgeable staff around. In 2004 Ron and Sue, ready for a slower pace of life, decided to sell part of the business. Jon Nelson the owner and head engineer of Black Hills Machine purchased it. With his extensive knowledge of wheels and manufacturing it was an easy transition.
Courtney, educated as a machinist, programs many complicated designs.

Jon, having sweat over the wheels for years was aware of the precision and expertise that went into the research, design, development, creating, and finally testing of the wheels. Jon came with over 25 years of engineering and machining experience. Having a motorcycle of his own since childhood, Jon knew what the industry demanded. He brought on his faithful companion, Stacey, as a marketing and sales director to forge ahead in the motorcycle industry. Click to Enlarge
